Why use a Heat Pillow?
Also called heat bags or heating pads, Tonic heat pillows can be used for extra warmth or as a remedy for muscle aches and period pains. Heat pillows take just 2 minutes in the microwave to reach the desired temperature making them a swift solution for the winter chill. The Australian sourced barley filling is mixed with soothing lavender to create a relaxing fragrance when heated for added ambience. Here at Tonic we use barley instead of traditional wheat as experience shows us that it gives a more enticing scent when mixed with the lavender and tends to keep the heat in for longer – essential on cooler winter days!
What’s the difference between the Heat Pillow and Heat Wrap?
Tonic’s classic heat pillow is a rectangular shape measuring 40cm x 14cm (16” x 5.5”), suitable for draping across your lap or over your shoulder. The heat wrap design is a curved shape that targets the neck or can also be placed around your lower back to hug your body.
What if I don’t have a microwave?
No microwave? No problem! Our best selling Deluxe Faux Fur and Bouclé shearling fabrics are also available in hot water bottles. We have 3 shapes available in our hot water bottle collection.
The traditional 2 litre shape is perfect to rest on your lap or stomach to radiate warmth throughout your body or target period pain.
The long 2 litre capacity hot water bottle shape is ideal for snuggling along your side while relaxing on the couch or in bed before sleeping. It can even be wrapped gently over a shoulder to relieve aches and pains.
The final shape is a smaller 1 litre size, designed for younger members of the family or for more targeted warmth on specific areas.
Are hot water bottles safe?
Each Tonic hot water bottle comes with a removeable cover and a screw top rubber insert that is tested to the highest safety standards (British Standards 1970:2012). Also included is a safety advice booklet, follow these instructions to fill your bottle with warm water (not boiling) and you can feel confident to be safe and warm as you use your Tonic hot water bottle.
